Recyclass

RecyClass is an initiative focused on promoting the recyclability of plastic packaging in Europe. It is managed by Plastics Recyclers Europe and aims to improve the design of plastic products to ensure they can be efficiently recycled.

RecyClass provides a framework for evaluating the recyclable components of plastic packaging and offers guidelines to help manufacturers enhance their designs for recycling. The evaluation includes testing to determine whether the materials used in the packaging are compatible with standardized recycling processes.

RecyClass also establishes certification systems that make it easier for both producers and consumers to understand which products are designed with recyclability in mind. This supports the circular economy by increasing the amount of plastic that can be effectively recycled, reducing plastic waste, and promoting sustainable practices within the plastics industry.

EcoVadis is a globally recognized assessment platform that evaluates companies' sustainability performance across four key categories: environmental impact, labor and human rights standards, ethics, and procurement practices.

Sustainability Assessment
For companies undergoing evaluation, EcoVadis Ratings provide a detailed analysis of sustainability performance in areas such as environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The user-friendly scorecards, with scores ranging from 0 to 100 and earned distinctions (medals and badges), highlight strengths and areas for improvement, enabling companies to focus their sustainability efforts effectively. This helps identify improvement opportunities and supports the development of targeted action plans.

Carbon footprint – CO2 footprint

The purpose of this carbon footprint assessment is to calculate the climate impact of producing waste bags made from recycled PE at Norfolier's facility in Notodden.

The carbon footprint of the waste bags is compared against examples of producing standard bags made from virgin materials in Germany and China.

The result indicates that the carbon footprint of waste bags made from recycled materials is more than 10 times lower than that of equivalent bags made from virgin materials.

Grønt Punkt Norge (Green Dot Norway)

Grønt Punkt Norge (Green Dot Norway) Grønt Punkt Norge is a non-profit membership organization. All businesses that place products on the market are required to take responsibility for the packaging once it becomes waste. This responsibility is effectively managed through membership with Grønt Punkt Norge.

The contribution paid by the company is entirely used to incentivize, narrow down, and recycle the packaging. Grønt Punkt Norge takes responsibility nationwide wherever the packaging becomes waste.
